7) Jose Bautista’s bat-flip

The stage was set; the Blue Jays versus the Texas Rangers in Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS. The winner would advance to the Championship series.

The fact the Blue Jays were even playing a Game 5 was a minor miracle. However, after falling behind by two games against the Rangers, they fought back to force the deciding encounter on home turf.

The atmosphere was electric, with a 53-minute seventh inning perfectly capturing the insanity of the occasion. The inning had it all: the Rangers retaking the lead with a fluke play, the crowd going crazy by throwing things onto the field, and two bench clearings.

Perhaps unnerved by the air of animosity, the Rangers’ Elvis Andrus committed errors on three consecutive plays in the bottom of the seventh. And then, after Josh Donaldson tied the game, this happened.
