8) Jays end MLB’s longest postseason drought

The Blue Jays entered the 2015 campaign with the longest postseason drought in baseball. Even worse, this also represented the longest dry spell in all four major professional sports in North America.

Sitting at 51-51 on July 29, it appeared all but certain the inglorious streak would extend to 22 years. However, galvanised by the trade for David Price, Toronto’s fortunes took a 180 degree turn.

What followed was a sensational tear, which saw the Blue Jays go 42-18 the rest of the way. They clinched a playoff spot with nine games remaining, followed by the AL East just four days later.

You can make a justified argument the Blue Jays should have advanced to their first World Series since 1993. Regardless, even though they fell short in the ALCS against the Kansas City Royals, 2015 was a truly special year for the team and their long-suffering fans.
