2) Blue Jays win their first World Series

The fact we haven’t put this at number one, tells you all you need to know about how good the glory days of the late 80s-early 90s really were. Regardless, winning your first ever World Series is an extremely special moment.

The Blue Jays were on the verge in 1991, after winning 91 games to clinch the AL East. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to halt the Minnesota Twins, who beat them 4-1 in the ALCS on the way to winning the World Series.

However, nothing would get in the way the following season, as Toronto became the first — and only — Canadian team to appear in, and win the World Series. The ultimate glory was reached, after a tense 11-inning victory in Game 6.
