Hockey is arguably the ultimate team sport. Regardless, which Toronto Maple Leafs players have the best chance of winning an individual award at the end of this season?
A lot of Toronto Maple Leafs fans will be feeling understandably frustrated on this Friday morning, due to losing 5-4 in overtime the previous night, against the Detroit Red Wings. One perception is that it was a point lost, after coming back from 4-1 down to force the extra period.
However, in this season, such a loss still has positives to take away from it. Apart from having your backup goaltender between the pipes, the team showed their mental fortitude by not giving up when they entered the third period down by three goals.
And really, that’s the point. This is a special Leafs team; they have truly become genuine contenders and will be making a lot of noise come playoff time.
Talking of genuine contenders, this helps up segue into the theme of this article. With all the talent the Leafs possess, they should be in serious contention for several of the NHL’s end of season player awards.
