With expectations higher going into the 2018-19 season, the Toronto Maple Leafs will look to finally get over the hump in the playoffs.

The moment has finally arrived and the anticipation for this year’s Toronto Maple Leafs season is as high as its ever been and for good reason.

With an already stacked lineup, the Leafs went out and landed the big free agent in John Tavares making them legitimate Stanley Cup contenders. Mike Babcock will look to prove that he’s capable of managing the expectations which were

Before we get into the predictions, let’s look at the changes made in the offseason by newly promoted general manager Kyle Dubas.

Key Additions: Tavares, Par Lindholm, Tyler Ennis, Igor Ozhiganov

Key Departures: James van Riemsdyk, Tyler Bozak, Leo Komarov, Roman Polak, Dominic Moore, Tomas Plekanec, Matt Martin, Connor Carrick

Of course, the biggest talking point going into this season will be the team’s blueline and whether the team has enough to get the job done or whether they’ll rely more on their stacked forward depth.
