With training camp opening in just under a month, we are ranking the Toronto Maple Leafs top 20 prospects; next up are 11-15.

In the first part of our Toronto Maple Leafs prospect ranking, we discussed the impact the young players have had on the team so far.

The second part looks at the prospects who fell just outside the top 10 and depending on which players make the jump to the NHL or are moved out in a potential trade, they could move up the list.

The 16-20 prospects were dominated by defencemen, as the Leafs have many entering the system after the 2018 draft. The next group features different parts of the depth chart, including the team’s top goaltending prospect.

Below is the criteria of how the prospect rankings were put together and which players did or didn’t make the cut.

  • The cutoff age for the ranking is 23 because at that point, the player has either played professional hockey overseas or have been with the Toronto Marlies long enough to gain more experience than a player who is just starting his professional hockey career.
  • The player cannot have more than 25 games of NHL experience like Travis Dermott and Kasperi Kapanen, who are expected to graduate to the Leafs fulltime this season.
