The Toronto Blue Jays were busy heading into the MLB none-waiver trade deadline trying to bring in as many assets to help move forward.

Rarely in their history have the Toronto Blue Jays been in full selling mode ahead of the trade deadline but this is where they found themselves at the end of July.

In a busy trade deadline for most MLB teams, Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins made it a point to try and move off as many players that were going to be free agents. The Blue Jays made six trades in total and could look to make more ahead of the waiver deadline.

Obviously, all the attention will be on whether Josh Donaldson can get back on the field and provide some idea of whether the front office can try to get a deal done. The 2015 AL MVP was supposed to be the team’s best trade chip but a nagging calf injury has seriously hampered the Blue Jays ability to move him.

Out of all the trades made, the one generating the most buzz, and for good reason, has been the Roberto Osuna trade to the Houston Astros. We’ll have more about how that deal impacts the Blue Jays and how they made out about it below.

In any time where a team is in full sell mode, the priority should be to try and get anything tangible in return while also ensuring that the team has something to build with going forward.

So here is an early look at how the Blue Jays got through the trade deadline.
