Owens – If there is one thing the Red Wings need, it’s defence. General Manager Ken Holland has stated previously that the back-end of Detroit needs to be revamped.

A right-handed shot is something every team in the NHL covets. Bouchard had an 80-point campaign this season in the OHL and played top-pairing minutes, while also wearing the
“C”.

He projects as a minute-munching, two-way defender who can dominate. He’s one of the best passers in the draft and is exactly what the Red Wings need to build around on defence.

Defence. Acadie-Bathurst Titan (QMJHL). player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Noah Dobson. 7. 104

Morassutti –

Dobson had a remarkable season, which was capped off by Acadie-Bathurst lifting the Memorial Cup. So far Olli Juolevi hasn’t made as much progress as expected from a top five pick, which could put the Canucks in a position to look at another high impact blueliner like Dobson if they don’t trade the pick.

It also depends on what the Red Wings do obviously and if Dobson is available, the Canucks shouldn’t hesitate. He can play a shutdown role and relies more on his positioning than trying to be overly physical.

He has a heavy shot from the point, which makes him an asset on the power play and gives the Canucks some much-needed talent on the back-end.
