San Antonio Spurs

Would it be outrageous to believe that Kawhi Leonard would be a realistic trade target for the Raptors? There have been no real links between Toronto and San Antonio and any indication that Leonard is on his way out.

ESPN’s trade offer for Leonard was a massive one which included DeRozan, OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam with Toronto also getting Rudy Gay. That trade may not be appealing for Raptors’ fans if it is going to cost them Anunoby.

Of course, Leonard is a top-10 player in the league that could be the piece they need to get past LeBron but you wonder at what cost. San Antonio would be getting two rising talents that would be a tough pill to swallow.

The other complicated part is that Leonard would probably not re-sign with the Raptors unless he decides that he likes to play in Toronto. It might be too much of a gamble for Ujiri to consider especially with the heat on him after letting Casey go.

Raptors Rapture wrote some potential scenarios as well for Leonard with one potentiall including Jonas Valunciunas. None of them however, included DeRozan which might be a bit easier for the Raptors to make because they would not have to give up as many secondary pieces in order to get the deal done.
