LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 27: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope #1 of the Los Angeles Lakers dribbles past DeMar DeRozan #10 of the Toronto Raptors during the second half of a game at Staples Center on October 27, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. Could there be a chance that DeRozan makes his way home? It was a possibility before he decided to go back to the Raptors. The Lakers have the pieces to get a deal done but they might be looking at bigger things in free agency.

They will also need to look at bringing back Julius Randle and if they’re not able to bring in a free agent, they could easily swing back for DeRozan.

LA Sports Hub suggested this trade for DeRozan which was also discussed on the Bill Simmons Podcast.

Coming the Raptors way would be Luol Deng and Brandon Ingram with DeRozan going the other way. Whether that would be enough for the Lakers is one thing because they also have to consider whether DeRozan can handle to pressure of playing in a tough market like LA.

Ingram made drastic improvements last offseason after a tough rookie season which means that made a big difference. At the same time he has not reached his full potential so that would make him a hot commodity on the trade market but there have been no active rumour of his availability.

Again all this talk might be pointless if the Lakers are able to stretch their financial muscle and land LeBron James and Paul George which would make any trade for DeRozan unlikely.
