Dwane Casey, the Toronto Raptors have limited options to improve the roster unless they explore trading players like DeMar DeRozan.

After another disappointing loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs, the Toronto Raptors cut ties with head coach Dwane Casey but some believe that the changes shouldn’t stop there.

The team is not in a position to go out and try to make a splash in free agency with significant contracts already on the books. Steven Loung of Sportsnet broke down the Raptors’ salary cap situation with DeMar DeRozan, Serge Ibaka, Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell combining to make $127 million.

They will also need to find a way to make Fred VanVleet fit but that might push them over the luxury tax unless Masai Ujiri starts to get creative. Obviously looking at the contracts on the book, the team has some pricey ones from players who have underperformed.

Powell is the first name that comes to mind as he was pushed down the depth by the emergence of rookie OG Anunoby. The 26-year-old signed a four-year deal worth roughly $42-million.

Would it be better off moving on from Powell or try to make it work and cut bait with another player? Is Ibaka’s contract untradeable? Is there a strong trade market for Lowry? It is tough to say.

DeRozan, on the other hand, is an interesting option not just because of how he performed in the series against the Cavaliers but because he might be the most desirable player that other teams would be willing to give up something for?

Which teams could those be? Here are four potential teams that could be interesting trade destinations for DeRozan.
