5) Work to do in MLS

This one is rather obvious. A sacrifice to prioritise in the Champions League has left a huge gap in MLS play for the Reds.

If it makes anybody feel better, Guadalajara dropped all the way down to second to last place in the LigaMX to make it so far in the Champions League.

The point here will be short, because it’s all up to Toronto as to how they tackle this problem. The New York Red Bulls sit in the last playoff sport with 12 points. New York was hot not too long ago, but they’ve seen a significant dip in form recently.

A draw on Saturday was promising for TFC as it is some sort of takeaway domestically, which hasn’t been the case over the course of this season.

The Reds have a testing schedule coming up, as three of the four next opponents hold a spot in the playoffs. The rematch with the Seattle Sounders is upcoming in May, but they are struggling as well, with their last place spot in the Western Conference.
