DeRozan has every move within the arc in his repertoire. In Game 4 Deebo discovered something; they can’t stop the spin move.
The spin is a little unconventional since its change of direction is slower than a crossover, but it essentially uses your defender as a source of torque against themselves. Also, how many players do you know who use it?
The spin has an element of surprise to it that’s caught Wizards defenders off kilter, yielding some really easy points for DeRozan.
It’ll be interesting to see how much he relies on it as the series gets tighter and the points get scant. I’m not expecting DeRozan to bust this out with the Toronto Raptors down two points with 30 seconds left for a surefire bucket, but you never know.
