The Toronto Blue Jays didn’t have a home run pickup in the offseason in the infield. What they do have, however, is more depth than ever

The Toronto Blue Jays had a very rough season in the infield last year. Troy Tulowitzki and Devon Travis spent the majority of the season outside of the lineup, and Josh Donaldson missed time as well.

This forced Jays manager John Gibbons to get creative, even going as far as to play Russell Martin at third base during the season.

Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro saw the needs of the team and most of those involved improving the infield. The Jays brass accomplished that, bringing in several key pieces to deepen the roster and ensure that they have reliable options behind the starters in the event that one of them has to spend time on the disabled list.

If healthy, this is the best the Jays infield has looked in a long time. We will break down how the Jays infielders finished off last season and what they could do going into this year.
