SECOND ROUND, 53rd OVERALL

16. . Center. Iowa. James Daniels. 53. player

This pick is a necessity the Bills no doubt wish they didn’t have to make.

Starting center Wood retired from football after the 2017 season when it was discovered he had suffered a career-ending neck injury.

The 2015 pro bowl player had been a solid piece to an O-Line charged with protecting Taylor, and the gap left in the middle means the Bills need to act quickly to find a replacement.

James Daniels is a top-rated center in this year’s draft and should be available in the second round.

He has good size, standing at 6-foot-3 and 295 lbs, and is a quick and proficient lineman coming out of an Iowa program that has produced some top lineman playing in the NFL today.

With the Buffalo Bills starting a new QB under centre next season, the position is one of their biggest needs and landing Daniels in the second round would clear up that issue almost immediately.
