The Toronto Raptors will have options to consider once the buyout market opens up as they look to bolster their roster before the Mar. 1 deadline.

Between now and Mar. 1 there is going to be constant debate surrounding the Toronto Raptors, even more than prior to the NBA trade deadline.

President Masai Ujiri already hinted the team has plans to try and add a buyout candidate that can help going into the playoffs. So far the team has thrived with its current roster as they currently sit first in the Eastern Conference.

Now people will point to how well the bench has played this season and the fact Dwayne Casey has a tough time spreading out the minutes. The case can be made, however, that sometimes having a veteran option will benefit the young bench that the Raptors employ.

Most of these players have not experienced the pressure of competing in the NBA playoffs and while they deserve to be a part of the rotation, it does not hurt to have a safety valve.

One player on the buyout market has already decided on his next designation, as reports suggest that Joe Johnson is planning to sign with the Houston Rockets. Scratch that name off the board.

Johnson was probably on the list of players the Raptors were considering as a depth option with the experience he brings, but he has struggled with the Utah Jazz this season.

There is still plenty of names that could become available for the Raptors, but until teams decide to buyout these players it is just rumours and speculation right now.
