MISSISSAUGA, ON – DECEMBER 8: Zach Magwood /

Andrei Svechnikov

  • Position: RW
  • Barrie (OHL)
  • 17-years-old

What a young top two to start off the draft. Regardless of the fact that both Dahlin and Svechnikov are under the age of 18, they still possess a load of skill.

The Russian winger is ranked one and two across an array of publications, and is listed as the number one North American skater by NHL Central Scouting.

The scoring touch is there with Svechnikov, with 24 goals and 40 overall points in just 28 games. He has the speed, the size and the puck-controlling capabilities to hog Corsi For numbers, which Buffalo needs so desperately.

More importantly, though, is the need for more offensive depth. Eichel and Sam Reinhart aren’t going to be able to carry the squad all the time, and Svechnikov would be a perfect complement to the two stars.
