Buffalo Sabres: Evander Kane’s potential trade destinations
By Nick McAdam
2) Vancouver Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks have been very competitive in the Pacific Division this season. They currently sit behind the San Jose Sharks for third in the division.
Kane is from Vancouver, where he played his junior hockey with the Giants. Chances are Kane would feel right at home if he landed in Vancouver.
At the moment the Canucks look pretty decent at wing. The likes of Brock Boeser and Jake Virtanen fit perfectly on the wing, and look as if they are going nowhere in the future. Yet, Vancouver has some depth pieces such as Loui Eriksson and Thomas Vanek that could easily be surpassed by the likes of Kane.
A lot of the Canucks’ scoring comes from the wing. Adding Kane could only add to that goal-scoring capability.
The only drawback is that Vancouver isn’t really offering anybody that can benefit the Sabres. Looking at the defense, Ben Hutton is a lock for the future, while Michael Del Zotto likely isn’t the answer for Buffalo’s weak defensive play.
