3) Goaltender Duel

So, what is it about Toronto that makes Schneider so fond of having his best games here? I mean, he got me some great points in fantasy with his one-goal performance, which was good for a .960 save percentage on the night. However, he was given the misfortune of also being on the losing end of the box score.

More from Toronto Maple Leafs

This game would have been comfortably in the Leafs’ favour if not for Schneider. In the first period alone, the Devils starter cleared two pucks off the goal line.

On the other side, Frederik Andersen was the star of this game. His team was brutally outshot and he stood tall to grab both points.

Andersen finished the game with 42 saves and a shutout on the night, including several key saves in overtime on point-blank shot attempts from the Devils. Overall, hats off to both netminders.

Lastly, I said I would have defence featured in every post until the Toronto Maple Leafs figure it out. You can’t complain when the Leafs didn’t give up a goal. There were no glaring issues for the Leafs, so I give them credit for their performance as a unit.
