Buffalo Bills let the New Orleans Saints march all over them: 5 takeaways

5. LeSean McCoy kept in checked by the Saints defence
As the Bills passing game struggled against the Saints so did the running game as LeSean McCoy was a non-factor on Sunday.
McCoy ran for 49 yards on eight carries and caught three passes for 11 yards as part of the Bills stagnant offence, a slight improvement compared to last week against the Jets.
The only break McCoy had was a 36-yard run in the first quarter.
This has been a reoccurring problem for the Bills all season as McCoy has rushed for over 100 yards only twice this season.
Aside from poor blocking by the offensive line and a struggling passing game, Sunday’s game also revealed the lack of depth the Bills have at running back behind McCoy.
Backup running back Mike Tolbert ran for -2 yards on two carries while fullback Patrick DiMarco ran once for zero yards. It’s clear the running game will only go as far as McCoy can take them.
Next week Bills fans should be optimistic for a better run game as McCoy is set to go up against a Chargers defence that is allowing a league high 135.1 rushing yards per game.
