1. Bills fail to capitalize on a chance to tie Patriots for first place in the AFC East

The circumstances surrounding the Bills before their Week 9 match put them in a great spot to improve their standing in the AFC playoff picture.

Already sitting in the top wildcard spot, the Buffalo Bills had a one game lead over the second wildcard team, the Tennessee Titans, as well as the teams in the hunt like the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens.

The Bills were also just one game behind the AFC East leading New England Patriots, who are on their bye week.

The opportunity was there for the Bills to strike and not only strengthen their grip on an AFC wildcard spot with a win, but to also challenge the Patriots for AFC East supremacy.

But with this loss, the Buffalo Bills run the risk of now finishing Week 9 tied with multiple teams in the wildcard hunt, making things a little more uncertain as the second half of the season approaches.
