The Toronto Maple Leafs open up their regular season slate with a bang, scoring a flurry of goals on the Winnipeg Jets in a 7-2 win.

Boy, that was a little crazy. If anyone thought the Toronto Maple Leafs couldn’t outdo the four-goal explosion from Auston Matthews to start last year campaign, think again.

The Buds beat up on the Winnipeg Jets, thrasing their cross-Canada rivals 7-2 in the opening game of the 2017-18 NHL season.

More importantly, all three of Matthews, William Nylander and Mitch Marner found the back of the net in the victory. Overall, only six Leafs didn’t record a point on the night.

There were a lot of high points, but certainly, some other aspects Mike Babcock and the coaching staff will go over, before the home opener against the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
