Where does Timothy Liljegren land?

Lastly, let’s touch on TImothy Liljegren. As reported by Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston earlier in the September, Rogle BK GM Anders Carlsson does not expect the 17th overall pick in this summers draft to return to Sweden.

Although the SHL’s agreement with the NHL forces players under 21 to go back to Sweden if they don’t crack an NHL squad, that rule doesn’t apply to first round picks.

Liljegren will be on the Marlies come this season, that’s no doubt, but how many games will he play for the Leafs this year? It probably won’t be more than a handful of games as a fill-in for injury. It will be a lot of fun to catch Liljegren play at Ricoh for a sliver of the price that it would cost to watch him in the NHL.
