No. 4: Adam Brooks

Centre, Regina Pats (WHL)

Yet another prospect who looks like he could be a hidden gem unearthed by Mark Hunter is overager Adam Brooks. A fourth round pick last year out of the WHL’s Regina Pats, Brooks put together yet another dominant season for the Pats, scoring an unbelievable 130 points in only 66 games.

Brooks is undersized at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds for a centre, but what he lacks in size he makes up with his hard work and determination. Brooks isn’t excellent at anything in particular, but he is very good at a lot of things and looks like he has the ability to follow in the footsteps of fellow undersized, hard working offensive dynamo, Connor Brown.

Brooks probably slots in as a third line centre at the NHL level, but next season he will more than likely be a top two centre for the Marlies, a team that was so weak in the centre of the ice, that Colin Greening was playing top line centre minutes for them at points in the season. I look forward to watching how he performs at a higher competition and with players more his age in the AHL next season.
