TORONTO, ON – APRIL 19: Auston Matthews /

Auston Matthews as Jon Snow

Leader. One of the main words that can describe both Matthews and Jon Snow. Jon was nothing but a pretend Stark but continued to work and prove that he can be a respected man and fighter. He led the Night’s Watch against the Wildling attack and against Ramsay Bolton.

Matthews made his stamp on the Leafs and the league from game one. As the season went on, his importance to his teammates increased further and further. There is no doubt that Matthews will be wearing the ‘C’ soon and lead his team to a battle for the Stanley Cup.

William Nylander as Arya Stark

These two characters match each other pretty well in their impulsive, but skilled nature. The potential was always there in Nylander; Leafs fans knew he would be a star. However, it took some trying times on the fourth line for Nylander to develop his overall game and become the budding superstar he is now.

Arya has had a similar journey being a girl who didn’t like to be a “lady”, to a strong character with a large role. She has seen many things and has had to grow up fast, but there is no telling what she can and will do.

Mitch Marner as Petyr Baelish AKA Littlefinger

Hear me out here. It may not be the most attractive comparison, but it is an accurate one. And no, it’s not because his nickname is Littlefinger and Marner is always commented on for his size.

Littlefinger is arguably one of the most dangerous characters on the show. Despite all that, he is constantly underestimated and made to be an after thought for most people. Littlefinger is smart and has the resources to cause damage but chooses to do so when the time comes.

Marner was the same way. A lot of people didn’t even have Marner in the opening lineup much less being one of their better players on the team. The best is yet to come for Marner. The same can be said for Littlefinger.

Patrick Marleau as Davos Seaworth

Both of them know who to join when the side they’re on falls. Davos joined up with Jon Snow after Stannis’ death and has since witnessed him win another battle. Marleau was interested in the young talent the Leafs have and the management which influenced his decision to sign.

Despite switching sides, both are very loyal. Marleau was on the Sharks for 19 seasons before leaving in free agency while Davos continued to support Stannis despite his poor decisions.

Connor Brown as Brienne of Tarth

Two people who know what it takes to make it. Brown has had a tough journey to the NHL being a sixth round pick. He has always been known for his determination and willingness to get better. If Brown was on the team at a different time, he may be known as one of the top Leafs rookies in history.

Brienne is no different. Despite being downplayed for being a woman, she has grown to become one of the greatest fighters in Westeros.
