Bringing in a veteran with a ring
The Leafs added winning experience by bringing in defenceman Ron Hainsey. This was one of the signings of the day that definitely had Leafs nation going back and forth on.

Y'know what, I'm okay with signing Ron Hainsey. Probably not much $ but a good guy to play w/the kids #Leafs #TMLtalk #FreeAgentFrenzy

The negative responses became more common when it was announced that Hainsey would be making $3 million over two years.
What??? 3 Mil per year? Please be a typo!!!

Hainsey at 3 mil per yr is very different from 3 mil for 2 yrs. LOL. Not a big fan of this deal. hope he gets flipped at the deadline #Leafs
