10 Ways to deal with the Toronto Raptors withdrawal

Read a book
The least favourite advice I got from my mother when I was a kid, but partially responsible for you reading this text on your screen. Doesn’t matter what type of book it is. Novel, manga, short stories, biography, comic book, whatever.
There are some great basketball books out there: the Book of Basketball is great if you want some historical context for players in the NBA. The Pyramid idea he has for ranking the best players in NBA history is intriguing, as is the pantheon idea, which leaves room for players to be shuffled around while still maintaining a certain ‘status’ within the history of the league. The only problem is the book was written in 2009, when Steph Curry was drafted, before LeBron James had ever won a championship and in the burgeoning years of Kevin Durant.
Another one is When the Game was Ours, which is a great flash back into the 80’s rivalry of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird while Jordan Rules provides introspection of Michael Jordan, the greatest player ever, during one of the most turbulent seasons of his career
Or take the time to dive into something outside the NBA. Those Song of Fire and Ice books from the Game of Thrones series aren’t going to read themselves.
There are some great Marvel comic books out for people to enjoy too. X-Men Blue where the original teenage X-men are time traveled into to their future/our present and Infamous Iron Man where Doctor Doom is now Iron Man (I know it’s crazy, but we’re talking about comic books here, when is it never not crazy?) They’re taking spins on old ideas and nailing them. Both books are worth a gander and are quick hits that you can enjoy in between doing other things on this list.
