Ottawa Senators:

Dion Phaneuf – Defenceman (Leafs 2010-2016)

Phaneuf, the last captain of the Maple Leafs, found himself caught in a scenario where the team needed to cut cap and were well into their first rebuilding year. He ended up on the Sens and has helped the team to their first conference final since 2007.

He had an overtime winning goal in round one against the Bruins and is looking to make his first career Stanley Cup appearance.

Clarke MacArthur – Forward (Leafs 2010-2013)

MacArthur left the Leafs in the summer of 2013. He announced his signing to the Senators in the best way possible — During a speech at Phaneuf’s wedding. He was sidelined with a concussion in the pre-season last year.

He sat out the majority of the regular season battling post-concussion syndrome. MacArthur has been the feel-good story of the playoffs, returning to score the series-clinching goal in the first round to beat Boston.

If you’re having trouble rooting for the Sens in the third round, then root for Clarke MacArthur instead.

Viktor Stalberg – Forward (Leafs 2009-2010)

This is one you may not even remember, as Stalberg’s run with the Leafs was short and sweet. He and Tyler Bozak tore up the 2009 preseason, which made Stalberg one of the premiere prospects on the Leafs.

He was traded after one season. He has bounced around, before finding himself on the Senators. Stalberg has appeared in 12 games, and will likely continue to feature in the Sens’ lineup going forward.
