1) Kevin Pillar

The first player who has been a surprise to Blue Jays fans so far this season. Out of all players you expect to have a hot start to the season, Kevin Pillar was surely the last one on everybody’s list.

To date, Pillar is hitting .301/.339/.505. And since he moved to the leadoff spot on April 1, he’s hitting .329/.373/.614, with four home runs and eight runs batted in.

To put those numbers into perspective, last April Pillar was hitting .272/.309/.380 with only one homer and seven RBI. It’s been noted that he’s been seeing the ball better and has picked up offensively for the Blue Jays so far this season.

Oh yeah, Pillar can also still track a ball pretty well in the outfield.

With the team beginning to get hot, one can assume Pillar will keep on rolling.
