7) DeMar DeRozan Lowkey Shoots the Corner 3
DeRozan is a notorious mid-range sniper, (which is controversial within itself), so he rarely shoots the three. He only attempts 1.7 three-pointers a game and when he takes that three, it’s usually a win for the defence because he only drains 27.5 percent of them.
Josh Smith levels of three-point shooting overall, but if you take a closer look at where he’s shooting from, you realize Deebo shoots 41.6 percent from the corners. Corner three’s are usually wide open and a shorter range than above the break, effectively making it a mid-range shot, so it makes sense DeRozan can hit them with semi regularity.

Defences won’t lurch out to DeRozan at that range because (good) teams play the percentages, but it varies on how detailed those percentages really are. So, that means those looks will continue to be wide open.
I don’t expect DeRozan to shoot a lot of three’s from the corner, but its good to have as a secret weapon in dire straights or end of the game situations. I’m calling it now – DeRozan is hitting a big three for the Raptors in crunch time during the playoffs. Don’t believe me? Just watch.
