Most Underwhelming Player

Patrick Patterson

Don’t get me wrong, I love Patrick Patterson, but he cost himself a lot of money this year. He’s a stretch 4 that is shooting 36 percent from range and 38 percent from the floor in general.

2Pat is consistently inconsistent and even though he’s part of the Raptors’ best lineups by point differential, his impact feels negligible. He’s streaks more frequently than a college student, he’ll get hotter than Orodruin for stretches, but will also go cooler than a polar bear’s toenails for bundles of games.

Patterson used to fulfill a niche on the squad as the stretch 4, but the spacing he provides is now available elsewhere within the rotation and he hasn’t refined his shot enough to where he’s a sniper from deep. He isn’t necessarily expendable now, he’s just not everything we wanted him to be.
