The thinking is that Stephon Gilmore will not be back in Buffalo next season, especially with him apparently looking for $14 million per season. (He’s not worth it, but you know someone will pay it to him.)

As such, this is why Jones could prove to be an attractive option for the Bills at number 10. In truth, you can make a compelling case to pick him, even if Gilmore does return to Western New York. (Admittedly though, the Bills will probably look elsewhere in this scenario.)

That’s because the two-time First-team All-Pac-12 selection is projected to be a long-term starter in the NFL. On a talented Washington Huskies’ defense which excelled in 2016, he is arguably the best of the bunch.

Jones has the speed and coverage skills to compete with most receivers. Throw in his intelligence and desire, and you have pretty much everything you look for in a cornerback.

About the only negative is a slim build, but whoever picks the Diamond Bar, California native will be able to work with him to improve this aspect. Overall, he has what it takes to succeed in the pass-happy world of the NFL.
