Terrence Ross is blossoming in Orlando with his new given responsibilities (averaging 14.6 points, 2.2 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and a block since joining the Magic). Feeling any regrets yet?

Demar: Remember that time when you had to break up with your high school sweetheart because she’s leaving town for university on the other side of the country? Then through the next couple weeks you see posts of her on social media and she’s suddenly significantly more attractive?

New hair, new makeup, new clothes, new everything, and you quietly weep wondering why she didn’t do that for you when you were dating also. What could have been if you had studied harder for that accounting exam and got that scholarship, instead of going to Connor’s party that sucked anyways?

Remember that time? Remember that blood curdling feeling of regret? No? Just me? *sighs*

It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday…

Chris: No, not at all. With the Raptors’ offence running through DeMar DeRozan and Lowry, there was no way Ross would ever develop into the player we thought he could be in Toronto. The biggest difference between his time in Toronto and Orlando, so far at least, is just minutes.

His usage rate is near the same (it was 19.7 percent in Toronto and is 18.9 percent in Orlando), but his minutes have substantially increased in Orlando (Ross averaged 22.4 minutes per game in Toronto, but is averaging 35 minutes in Orlando).

I think if you gave Ross those same minutes in Toronto, we would have seen him average between 16-20 points a night, perhaps even more. But, again, with DeRozan and Lowry in the picture, that just wasn’t feasible.
