Toronto Sports Radio station Sportsnet 590 The FAN has announced that the Dean Blundell & Co. show has been cancelled effective immediately.
Toronto, ON – Canada’s No. 1 sports radio station The FAN 590 has announced a shake up to its morning sports talk radio line-up with the cancellation of the Dean Blundell & Co. show.
The new morning show to air in it’s place is called Sportsnet’s Starting Lineup and will feature Greg Brady and Elliot Price, along with long-time Toronto sportscaster Hugh Burrill.
“Greg, Elliott and Hugh will greet our listeners each morning with engaging sports conversation, enthusiastic debate, and wide-ranging opinions. The show will be entertaining, passionate, and fun – all the while focusing on the topics Toronto sports fans care about most,” said Dave Cadeau, Program Director, Sportsnet 590 The FAN. “The trio has incredible chemistry and their dynamic personalities are a perfect fit for our audience.”

Blundell had been on the air on Sportsnet590 The FAN since March of 2015 after his controversial dismissal from his long-time morning show on Toronto’s Alternative Rock station Edge 102.1 (CFNY) in January of 2014 for making homophobic remarks on air.
“Dean Blundell is an incredibly talented broadcaster. The decision to part was based purely on a desire to return to a more complete sports format. I enjoyed working with Dean and wish him the very best,” said Cadeau.
