4) Will Toronto FC take the last step this season?

TFC were understandably devastated with how last year ended. Even now, the players, management and fans alike wonder how they lost to the Sounders?

Not that it is even remotely any consolation, but given how events unfolded during the final, the Sounders were just a team of destiny. Now, it’s up to the Reds to use what happened as motivation, to take the next — and last — step in 2017.

Of course, this will be easier said than done, with the two New York clubs expected to provide strong challenges once again. Not that this will intimidate Toronto FC, who showed what they were truly capable of, when the playoffs rolled around.

It will be important for TFC to get off to a strong start, as they begin the season with three games on the road. However, this shouldn’t phase them, especially when you consider they started their 2015 and 216 campaigns with seven and eight away games respectively.

Overall, the Reds have all the pieces in place to finish what they started last season, especially with their striking duo of Giovinco and Altidore. Now it’s up to them to prove what many people thought was the case in the 2016 final – that they are the best team in MLS.
