10) Nazem Kadri, Morgan Rielly Sign Extensions

The Maple Leafs locked up two of their cornerstone players on April 13 when they signed Kadri and Reilly to six-year extensions. The Leafs did a great job of signing both players to relatively team friendly deals, with Kadri set to make $4.5 million a season and Rielly set to make $5 million.

While Toronto is cap-strapped now, these deals will more than likely look great during years four, five and six when the team has to sign core players like Matthews, Marner and Nylander. That’s when we’ll look back and be happy these extensions took place.
