2) Auston Matthews’ Four-Goal Debut

Four goals in a game is a remarkable accomplishment for any hockey player, but to do it in your NHL debut is simply unbelievable. Add in the fact that Matthews was only 19 years old and he accomplished the feat in less than two periods makes his performance on October 13 even more impressive.

To put the surreal accomplishment into perspective, Matthews not only took the hockey world by storm in less than 40 minutes, he set a modern record with his four goals and created a first impression that had Leafs’ fans excited to usher in the next 100 years of Maple Leafs hockey.
