3) Draft Day

This wasn’t the biggest moment of 2016 because we already knew who the Leafs were picking at No. 1, but how fantastic was it to hear this announcement from Mark Hunter on June 24:

While winning the lottery sparked sheer euphoria, this announcement created a feeling of excitement that seemed to vindicate all the losing fans endured during 2016. Don’t get me wrong, draft day was still exciting, but it was the kind of excitement you get in on tap-in putt for birdie, not the kind of excitement you get in when you sink a 40-foot putt for birdie on a speedy green that has left-to-right break. Kudos to any of you if you can do that by the way.
