9) Andreas Johnsson – LW Toronto Marlies (AHL):

Much was expected of Johnsson after he finally came to North America after a three-year stint with Swedish powerhouse Frolunda. Although Johnsson hasn’t exactly lit the AHL on fire, he has definitely begun to make the adjustment to North America following a tragic cheap shot that stole his playoffs hopes at the end of last season.

Johnsson has a top six role with the Marlies, and it will be interesting to watch the second half of his season and playoffs with the Marlies to see if his increasing comfort in North America will lead to an increase in points (for his sake) as well as righting the ship for a Marlies team that is really struggling at the moment.
