2) Kasperi Kapanen – RW Toronto Marlies (AHL):

Kapanen was the key piece coming back via Pittsburgh as a result of the Phil Kessel trade. It looks as though Kapanen has finally found his footing in North America with the Marlies this season. Despite an incredible start to the season, they are currently mired in a terrible stretch of games, but none of that is due to Kapanen not scoring. It is quite the opposite actually. It would be rather interesting to see where the Marlies would be without him and Brendan Leipsic.

For Kapanen, this is the player we all thought we were getting following the July 1st deal that sent the Leafs best player to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions. Kapanen has really parlayed his golden goal for team Finland into a fine season for the Marlies.

Kapanen is oozing with confidence and is currently a point per game player for the Marlies. His combination of a dangerous shot and electric skating stride has him looking like a potential top six winger for the Leafs as early as next season.
