Most Valuable Player

DeMar DeRozan

For the First 12 games of the season I wondered if DeRozan had time traveled backwards in time and stolen Kobe Bryant‘s abilities Monstar style during Kobe’s first Achilles tear and brought them back to the year 2016 to take over the NBA. His play was amazing and that antiquated that you could have convinced me. Although DeRozan has cooled off he started the season with 10, 30 point games in the first 12 games of the season, he’s the only player to achieve such a feat since Michael Jordan.

DeRozan has detonated for a career year, averaging 28 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists with an eFG% of 49.3 percent. His PER has sky rocketed to 25.9 ranking him 11th in the league right behind Steph Curry and just ahead of Damian Lillard this season.

DeRozan has mastered the midrange but has adopted a style that allows him to incorporate his teammates more due to the attention he now draws from the offense. Without the superpower of a three point shot DeRozan has emerged as one of the best scorers in the NBA.

Other Nominiees: Kyle Lowry, Patrick Patterson
