Update: the Blue Jays have signed Kendrys Morales to a three-year, $33 Million contract

In my opinion, the Jays hit a home run with the inexpensive signing of the switch-hitting Kendrys Morales (pun very much intended). While not a guy with 40-50 home run potential like Encarnacion or Bautista were for the Jays, Morales is hardly a step down for the Jays.

It is conceivable that he could hit .285 with 30 home runs and 100 RBIs, which for a mere $11 million a season is incredible value for a Jays team that has a lot of money tied up in the middle of their order and could use some upgrades at the bottom of their order and in the bullpen. Saving $10 million minimum will allow the Jays to greater address the holes in their team.
