Toronto Maple Leafs Announce Alumni Game Roster for Centennial Classic
Toronto Maple Leafs fans will be in for a treat at the Centennial Classic alumni game as favourites like Mats Sundin, Curtis Joseph and Tie Domi are all suiting up for the Blue and White.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced their roster for the alumni game taking place the day before the Centennial Classic on December 31st.
I must admit, both teams will be icing an impressive roster of former players, which isn’t a surprise when you consider the history of both teams and this being the Leafs centennial season. Here’s a look at each team’s roster.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Forwards:
Mats Sundin, Doug Gilmour, Darryl Sittler, Wendel Clark, Dave Andreychuk, Steve Thomas, Darcy Tucker, Gary Roberts, Tiger Williams, Gary Leeman, Rick Vaive, Lanny McDonald, and Tie Domi

Defence:
Borje Salming, Bryan McCabe, Tomas Kaberle, Bob McGill, Dave Ellett, Al Iafrate, and Dimitri Yushkevich.
Goalies:
Curtis Joseph, Felix Potvin, and Mike Palmateer.
This is a great roster of Maple Leafs. From Sundin to Salming, there’s a player on this team for just about every generation of Leafs fans.
Detroit Red Wings
Forwards:
Sergei Fedorov, Slava Kozlov, Brendan Shanahan, Kris Draper, Tomas Holmstrom, Darren McCarty, Igor Larionov, Kirk Maltby, Dino Ciccarelli, Martin Lapointe, Doug Brown, Mickey Redmond, and Joe Kocur
Defence:
Nicklas Lidstrom, Larry Murphy, Chris Chelios, Paul Coffey, Mathieu Dandenault, Jiri Fischer
Goalies:
I’m sure the first name that sticks out on the Wings roster is the big boss of the Maple Leafs, Brendan Shanahan. Aside from Shanny, the Wings boast a number of players from their Stanley Cup runs during the late 90s and early 2000s, although Steve Yzerman is missing from the roster.

This game will be televised, but if you want to purchase tickets and watch it live at BMO Field, you can do that here. It should be an entertaining game to watch.
