Bounce Back to Win 4-2 Against the Manitoba Moose

While the Marlies came away with the victory it could have been a different story with some undisciplined play. Laich got his first goal of the season ripping a wrist shot past Eric Comrie. Tobias Lindberg set up Brendan Leipsic to extend his point streak to four games. The Marlies went 1-for-4 on the power play but took eight penalties and were fortunate that the Moose only scored twice.

Froese continued what he started the night before scoring two goals on Saturday afternoon. Antoine Bibeau stopped 28 of 30 shots for the win which earned him the start on Sunday.

This is what coach Sheldon Keefe had to say after the game.

“I thought yesterday’s game was as good as I’ve seen us play in terms of executing what we want to do and then we lose that game. Today, we didn’t do much right and somehow we win the game but that’s just the way it goes in this sport. Special teams obviously a factor yesterday for us and today we gave up two again on the penalty kill which isn’t good for us but a power-play put us ahead at a key time. Those are factors for us, we are happy with the win certainly but we know we have to be a lot better.”
