3) Was Jay Ajayi’s 200-yard effort the start of something special?

For most, Jay Ajayi‘s 204 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week seemed to come out of nowhere. For others, especially Boise State alumni, it was the type of effort they saw regularly between 2012-14.

Regardless, Ajayi’s performance gives the Bills something extra to think about, heading into their Week 7 match-up. Consider that before the Pittsburgh game, the Dolphins had been averaging a mediocre 72.4 yards on the ground.

Part of the reason for the 23-year old’s spectacular day undoubtedly came down to the play of his offensive line. Last Sunday also marked the first time this season all five starters played together.

Overall, you have to believe the likes of Kyle Williams and Zach Brown won’t allow a similar effort from the Dolphins, especially with a week to prepare. However, keep in mind the Steelers were only giving up 77 rushing yards per game before facing Ajayi last week.
