5. Saunders Ground Rule Double

With the Jays down 2-1 and feeling a sense of urgency, they desperately needed to get something going following the two-run shot from Trumbo and a scoreless bottom of the fourth from the heart of the batting lineup. Chris Tillman was likely pitching in his final inning, leaving it up to one of baseballs best bullpens. Toronto definitely did not want to be down a run should Tillman get pulled.

After Tulo flied out to left field, Saunders hit an opposite field ground rule double. This hit was huge as it brought life to Rogers Centre and suddenly there was hope again. Pillar followed that up with a huge double to right, which should’ve scored Saunders but didn’t. There was now a man at second and third with one away, setting up the stage for Ezequiel Carrera.
