9. Devo “Baby” Travis Heads-Up Base Running
After Carrera struck out, the Jays turned to their reliable second baseman, Devon Travis. He had hit into two inning ending double plays earlier in the game, which is unlike him, so you just knew he had to do something to change the fortunes of his postseason debut.
Not only did he lace a single to left field to start the rally, but he took an extra bag on a Donaldson single to left fielder Nolan Reimold, who bobbled the ball for only a split second. It was superb heads-up base running on Travis’ part that gave him third base, setting up the moment that will be forever remembered in Blue Jays’ franchise history.
