The Toronto Maple Leafs will get their first taste of preseason action on Monday night in Halifax, with many players looking to make an impact.

The Toronto Maple Leafs traveled to Halifax to being their training camp on Friday. With the recent news about Joffrey Lupul and the World Cup of Hockey, there has not been as much attention paid towards the events in Halifax.

While Auston Matthews, Morgan Rielly, James van Riemsdyk, Nikita Zaitsev, Milan Michalek, Roman Polak, Leo Komarov and Jhonas Enroth get time off because of the World Cup of Hockey, it gives the Leafs a chance to look at other players. This will not be the first taste of action for some of the players who participated in the rookie tournament, but for most, this will be their first taste of hockey since last season.

As we stated in the most recent episode of the ToT Cast, there is a lot of competition during training camp so every exhibition game is important, especially for the younger players. Here are the expected line combinations for the game:

There are notable players missing for tonight’s game, including William Nylander, Matt Martin, Tyler Bozak, Jake Gardiner, Connor Carrick, Nikita Soshnikov and Peter Holland. However, even without those players, the Leafs still have a decent group looking to prove themselves.
