3) Marv Levy: Career coaching wins (112)

You can make the argument that Levy wasn’t fully appreciated around the NFL, during his tenure in Western New York. All critics wanted to talk about, were the Bickering Bills and four straight Super Bowl defeats.

However, what some people failed to realize was the momentous task the Hall of Famer undertook, attempting to mold all the superstars and egos into a winning unit. It’s safe to say he succeeded, relying on his coaching and ability to challenge each player individually, to create a roster which persevered and repeatedly bounced back, despite suffering the ultimate heartbreak four consecutive times.

As a result, Levy oversaw the Bills most sustained period of success as a franchise. Between 1988-96, they won six AFC East titles and qualified for the playoffs eight times.

In total, the two-time NFL Coach of the Year spent 12 seasons roaming the sidelines in Buffalo. As such, he holds the franchise record for most regular season wins by a head coach. (Lou Saban is second on the list, with 68.)

In truth, a lot of people won’t be surprised to see this record on the list, especially when you consider the Bills’ current lengthy run without any playoff football. Regardless, it will take a perfect storm of circumstances for any head coach to ever top Levy’s proud record in Buffalo.
