Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets: 5 Players to Watch
By Paul Taylor
3) Darrelle Revis
The performance of Revis will be one of the single biggest storylines on Thursday night. Last week saw one of — if not the — worst games of his professional career.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was a perfect 10-for-10 when throwing in the direction of the seven-time Pro Bowler. This resulted in 152 of A.J. Green‘s 180 total receiving yards against the Jets.
It is worth pointing out Green is one of only two receivers to have 1,000 yards receiving in each of his first five seasons. Regardless, giving up 10 catches and 152 yards is a poor night for any cornerback, but especially one of the best in the NFL.
The question is, does last week represent an off-night for Revis, or a sign of things to comes? Under normal circumstances, Sammy Watkins would be the man to answer this, especially after burning him for 96 yards the last time the two met.
However, Watkins is questionable for Thursday night’s game, due to ongoing issues with his surgically repaired foot. The Bills wide receiver claims he feels fine and will play, so we wait to see if he will become marooned on Revis Island, or repeat his success from Week 17 last season.
